To celebrate the opening of their first UK boutique, at 138 New Bond Street in London, IWC have introduced the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar London Edition, reference IW502805, limited to 38 pieces. The watch is available exclusively from the IWC London boutique, tel. +44 (0)203 618 3900.

The watch is in stainless steel, and it looks like a version of the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Top Gun, a remarkable complication with displays for date, day, month, year in four digits, and perpetual moon phase, at the top of the dial, with double northern and southern hemisphere indications. The dial includes the classic pilot’s watch feature of a triangle with two dots at the 12 o’clock position, which for IWC dates back to its Second World War models. Also characteristic is the large conical crown. The movement keeps track of all leap years until that fateful date 2100 when all the perpetual calendar watches in the world will have to be adjusted. The Calibre 51111 automatic movement provides a power reserve of seven days. In the diagram below, details of the moon phase display and the superb digital year indication.
