The Tom Ford 001 is the fashion brand’s first watch. It has a rectangular case, a quartz movement, and interchangeable strap. It is an attractive timepiece with a case that is curved when seen from the side, so that it rests nicely on the wrist. The case has integrated lugs with the strap simply sliding through, so that the owner can easily personalize it from day to day to match his dress and mood.
Minimalist rectangular dial, no date
It’s an attractive, minimalist design, perfect as a dress watch. I particularly like the fact that Tom Ford decided against a date window. I also find the graphic layout interesting, with the numerals arranged five on each side, perfectly aligned in a column, so that you don’t notice the difference in space between adjacent numerals caused by the rectangular geometry. The crown has an onyx inlay. The case is available in two versions, medium and large, 27 x 40 mm and 30 x 44 mm respectively. Water resistance is the standard 3 bar, 30 metres, no swimming.
Several versions available
There are several case versions, steel, steel with DLC coating, gold, and a wide range of straps. The watch is Swiss-made, the straps are made in France. It’s expensive at prices starting from €1,800 for the medium size, €1,910 for the large size, and reaching about €8,000 for the large gold version.
