The Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum is part of a new Montblanc family of watches, the Heritage Spirit collection. The watch shows the time at any one of the 24 time zones in the world, by means of an in-house time zone module added to the movement and driving a series of discs as well as the two hands. The dial is multi-level, with a view of the earth as seen from the North Pole, rotating above a blue disc representing the oceans. Outside this is a ring with the 24 time zones identified by city, and then a 24-hour ring that rotates with the passage of time. A pusher at 8 o’clock sets the second time zone by rotating the cities ring: you just have to position the desired city at 6 o’clock and read off the time there against the 24-hour ring. This ring also functions as a day-night indicator, and the day-night function also colours the continents on the world map at the centre. The watch is powered by the automatic MB29.20 Calibre movement with 42 hours power reserve. The stainless steel case is 41 mm in diameter, 12 mm thick, in steel. Reference 112308, price €4,990 for the stainless steel version, €13,900 for a version in red gold.
