The three watches in this new collection by Romain Jerome have the looks of the Steampunk collection, but there is no Titanic steel in the case, which helps bring the price point down. They can be considered the entry-level Romain Jerome Steampunk pieces, with prices starting at 8,950 Swiss francs. Each of the three versions is a limited edition of 999 pieces. The detail below of the decorative pistons is from Romain Jerome’s Facebook page.
The case is 46 mm in diameter, in steel, black PVD or red gold, with the classic “rough finish” that is also found on the large VI and XII Roman numerals; the dial has lots of steampunk references such as the hands like anchors, the seconds hand in the form of a ship’s propeller, and the four pistons. The watch has an automatic movement, the RJ003-A, a Swiss-made movement based on the ETA 2892-2 (but not an ETA – Romain Jerome don’t use any ETA movements), providing 40 hours power reserve. The tips of the hands have triangles of green-emitting SuperLuminova.
