Happy Sport by Chopard has become a very large collection and it is one of the brand’s most popular watches. Chopard’s determination to reinforce its horological positioning is shown by recent developments in the Happy Sport range, which from its launch in 1993 acquired its first 36 mm models with mechanical movements in 2013. This year, at Baselworld Happy Sport was presented in a smaller 30 mm format, again with automatic movements, in a number of different variants to suit the owner’s personal style and tastes. There are five mobile diamonds between the two sapphire glass layers above the dial.
The movement is not made by Chopard: its characteristics (20 mm diameter, 3.6 mm thickness, 28,800 vph, 40 hours power reserve) suggest that it is the ETA 2000-1. If this is correct, it is interesting that the Chopard designers decided not to use the date which is included as part of this movement.
