The Diamond Flower Amytis by Perrelet is a rare thing, a women’s watch that is not just a reduced-size version of a men’s watch, but has its own feminine essence, provided by the ever-changing patterns formed on the dial. In addition, it has the prestige of an in-house mechanical movement. The dial-side rotating weight, hallmark of Perrelet’s watches, takes the form of petals in rhodium-plated steel (the advantage of rhodium plating is that it looks exactly like white gold, at a fraction of the cost), diamonds and mother-of-pearl. They rotate against the background of the dial, either in white mother-of-pearl with blue accents, or sunburst blue dial with contrasting white. The combination of the rotor with its different colours, the dial that is also divided into different segments and with strongly stylized Roman numerals, and the blue hands, creates an attractive motif.
The circular stainless steel case is 36.5 mm in diameter and 12.3 mm thick, water resistance 5 bar/50 metres. It houses the mechanical Calibre P-181-H movement, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour, 4 Hertz, that can be seen through the display caseback with sapphire crystal window. The movement-side oscillating weight is linked to the dial-side rotor.
