The Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Good Planet 38.5mm by Omega, presented at Baselworld 2016, is a nice three-hand watch with a nautical feel provided by the blue-accented hands and hour indices, and the blue nylon fabric strap. It’s also a very practical everyday watch, at a size wearable by all, men and women, and a 150-metre water resistance which means that you can wear it in the rain and while swimming. It’s a relatively accessible piece (considering Omega prices) at €6,500 (7,000 Swiss francs) and part of the proceeds go to environment conservation projects.
The V-shaped applied hour indices define the triangular theme that is continued by the hour hand and the tip of the minute and second hands. There is white SuperLuminova on the hands and indices, filling the centres of the triangular forms. The case is in titanium, 38.5mm diameter, 12.84mm thickness, with a sapphire caseback window revealing the movement.
The Calibre 8500 is an Omega Master Co-Axial calibre, self-winding, running at 25,200 vibrations per hour (3.5 Hertz), with a power reserve of 60 hours. The movement has a silicon balance spring and so it is resistant to 15,000 gauss magnetic fields. This watch is not supplied with Omega’s new METAS certification, but just COSC chronometer certification. This indicates a precision rated at a maximum deviation of -4/+6 seconds per day.
The fabric strap has a brushed metal foldover clasp.
