The NightFlight by Limes was introduced in 2000, and a new version has now been presented. It is a watch in the classic pilot’s watch style, with black dial and SuperLuminova markings, but it has some details that set it apart from the basic Type A pilot’s watch.

The stainless steel case, made by Ickler, is 42 mm in diameter and 9.5 mm thick, with polished areas contrasting with the brushed caseband. Water resistance is 5 atm. From the flat central area, the dial slopes down in the ring bearing the applied polished metal Arabic hour numerals and the luminous reference triangle at 12 o’clock. Then there is a small vertical section bearing the minutes/seconds numerals and scale, and, at the edge, a ring with hour markers coated in SuperLuminova. The design gives extra three-dimensionality to what is usually a flat black dial. Its balance is assured by the choice not to include a date window. Legibility is enhanced by the anti-reflective coated sapphire watchglass. The crown and hands are not the classic pilot’s watch shapes but they are a good match for the rest of the watch. The strap is in black or brown leather.

Sellita movement

The sapphire crystal caseback reveals the Swiss self-winding Sellita SW 200-1 movement at its “standard” level. It provides the stop-seconds function.
