Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M

The new Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M is a fine all-purpose watch, now with Omega’s Master Chronometer certification by METAS that expresses the brand’s objective of progressively extending its anti-magnetic properties to the whole range, and a new design. The watch has been given a symmetrical feel by moving the date window from 3 to 6 o’clock, and a new stylistic unity has been introduced by means of the many variations on the truncated cone/trapezoidal shape. It appears on the hour markers, the hour and minute hands, the date window and the crown. When seen from close up, the applied hour markers, with the central part filled with SuperLuminova, look like little boats sailing through a blue sea, and the horizontal fluting on the dial recalls a boat’s teak decks.

Separate hour-hand adjustment

The crown is screw-down, which helps attain the 150 metre, 15 bar water resistance. This makes the Seamaster a perfect sports timepiece. The crown has a position in which you can adjust the hour hand while not affecting the minute and seconds hands, useful when travelling, but there is no rapid date change position.

Distinctive caseback profile

The caseback of the new Seamaster has a wavy profile that reinforces the watch’s marine character. The rubber strap is nicely integrated into the case by means of a stainless steel link that creates an interesting visual motif. The case is 41 or 38 mm in diameter.

Comprehensive movement certification

The movement is the Omega 8800 or 8900, self-winding with co-axial escapement. The 15,000 gauss magnetic resistance is achieved in part by the silicon balance spring. The two mainspring barrels provide a power reserve of 60 hours. The METAS certification comprises a movement precision of between 0 and +5 seconds per day maximum deviation, an excellent standard and better than COSC (-4/+6 secs deviation per day). Bridges and rotor are rhodium-plated and decorated with Côtes de Genève.
