The 2015 Oscars ceremony gave a lot of fashion designers the chance to showcase their garments, and there were some watches as well. Presenter Naomi Watts wore a Giorgio Armani Privé gown, and she was wearing a jewellery bracelet that looked like a watch but was in fact simply the Wallis Simpson bracelet by Anna Hu with just over 34 carats of diamonds.
Amongst the men there was a fine selection of dress watches. Eddie Redmayne, winner of Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Theory of Everything, wore a Chopard L.U.C. XPS in platinum on a black strap, with blue dial, and perfect for slipping under a shirt cuff at just 7.13 mm thickness.
Like Chopard, Harry Winston was mainly present in the form of lots of diamond jewellery, but there were some watches as well. Presenter Ansel Elgort was wearing a Harry Winston Midnight Skeleton in white gold.
Steve Carell, at his first Academy Award nomination, for Best Actor in a Leading Role (eccentric millionaire John du Pont in Foxcatcher), wore the Harry Winston Midnight Big Date in white gold.
Montblanc had a great turnout, with eight personalities wearing their watches and yet others in Montblanc cufflinks and studs. Mark Ruffalo, nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Foxcatcher, wore the Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Dual Time.
Morten Tyldum, nominated as director of The Imitation Game, was sporting the Montblanc Star Classique Automatic.
Dan Gilroy, nominated for the Original Screenplay of Nightcrawler, wore the Montblanc TimeWalker Automatic Dual Time Special Edition.
Miles Teller wore the Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Perpetual Calendar, along with a Prada dinner jacket.
Ben McKenzie wore the Montblanc Heritage Spirit Date Automatic.

The guests present included Jessica Chastain, Michael Keaton, Julianne Moore, Scarlett Johansson, Cate Blanchett, Matt Bomer, Emma Stone, Patricia Arquette, Ethan Hawke, Oprah Winfrey, Olivia Munn, Miles Teller, Andy Samberg and Emmy Rossum, and not surprisingly there was a lot of Piaget jewellery and watches. Here are a few of the timepieces, predominantly the Piaget Altiplano in its different versions:
