Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch “White Side of the Moon”

The Speedmaster Moonwatch “White Side of the Moon”is the third watch by Omega to have a case entirely in ceramic. It completes the series of the ceramic “Dark” and “Grey” Side of the Moon released in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Case, dial and pushers are in white zirconium oxide ceramic; the polished white ceramic bezel has a matt chromium nitride tachymeter scale.

The case is 44.25 mm in diameter. Hands are in 18K white gold, though the central chronograph seconds hand is rhodium-plated and has a red tip. Other touches of red on the watch are the Speedmaster logo on the dial, and red stitching on the strap. There is SuperLuminova on the three central hands, the indices and the two dots at 12 o’clock. The subdial at 3 o’clock shows chronograph minutes and hours using two hands (so if the chronograph was started on the hour it could also work as a second timezone); continuous seconds at 9 o’clock.

The watch has a white leather strap wth white ceramic foldover clasp. The caseback is also in white ceramic, with a sapphire glass display window revealing the Co-Axial calibre 9300 movement. Two barrels mounted in series provide a 60-hour power reserve.
