The AC-One 45 Bois is a new development of the Admiral’s Cup collection by Corum, and its distinctive feature is the teak used for the dial, with the vertical joint lines reminiscent of classic yachts. The large 45mm case has the twelve-sided Admiral’s Cup shape, but overall it has a tougher look created by rugged volumes and black PVD details.
Case
The stainless steel case is 45 mm in diameter, 14.3 mm thick. It has a complex look, with black PVD inlays between caseband, bezel and caseback. A black PVD coating also appears on the crown protectors and the crown itself. The watch has a water resistance at diving watch level, 300 metres. The dial has the classic Admiral’s Cup pennants on the flange, corresponding to the hour marker batons with a black SuperLuminova coating on the dial. The subdials are for small seconds at 3 o’clock, and a 30 minutes chronograph counter at 9 o’clock. The strap is in leather with a kevlar embossed pattern (the brand calls it the “Mad Max” strap).
Movement
The automatic CO 116 chronograph movement can be viewed through the sapphire crystal caseback, with a circular, openworked oscillating weight. It runs at 28,800 vph, 4 Hz, and has a power reserve of 42 hours. 39 rubies.
