These women’s watches by Junghans are not just quartz watches: they are absolutely accurate, and provide perpetual calendar functions, because they are capable of receiving time signals. They are powered by sunlight, which filters through the mother-of-pearl dial, down to solar cells underneath, and so they have a power reserve of up to 21 months. They are housed in stainless steel cases, 35.6 mm in diameter, 8.9 mm thick, with 100 metres water resistance.
This new women’s model is a new development that follows the Spektrum for men. It has a multi-frequency radio-controlled solar movement, J615.74, made by Schramberg, designed specifically to receive time signals from the transmitters DCF77 (Europe), WWVB (USA) and JJY 40/JJY 60 (Japan). Outside these areas, the time is shown by means of the quartz movement. A liquid crystal display shows date and continuous seconds; the watch automatically changes for summer time or standard time. After 72 hours without exposure to light, the sleep mode activates.
