Ikepod is a brand making distinctive design-oriented pebble-shaped watches. Their latest piece, presented at the Baselworld pop-up show during the Geneva Watch Days from 30 August to 3 September, is Seapod, a diving watch with 200 metres water resistance and a unidirectional rotating bezel. It was designed by Fabrice Gonet, and it has a Miyota 9039 self-winding movement.
Seapod, comfortable and distinctive on the wrist
“We wanted to create a diving watch that corresponded to our design aesthetics, with no visible lugs and a streamlined, futuristic shape”, said Christian-Louis Col, Managing Director and owner of Ikepod. The bezel is very practical, easy to rotate even though it doesn’t have the customary knurled edge. The watch has a 46 mm case, but it wears smaller because of the no-lugs design and the beautifully rounded shape both from the top and the side.
Three versions
Seapod is made in three versions, S001 Zale with orange highlights and black silicone strap, S002 Jacques with blue highlights and strap, and S003 François, an all-black piece with black PVD case and all markings with SuperLumiNova.
Seapod price and availability
All versions of the watch cost 1,450 Swiss francs, €1,350 inclusive of tax, deliveries after 20 September. Read more and purchase on the Ikepod website. In the photos below, the luminous markings of the black S003 François version of Seapod, and the caseback with sapphire display window.
