The 556 is Sinn’s entry-level watch, a sports watch with stainless steel case and an ETA 2824-2 self-winding movement. For the brand’s 55th anniversary, it has presented three models with different dial finishes, and this particular version is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces. It inherits some aspects of Sinn’s traditions in pilot’s watches, with the shape of hands, the SuperLuminova on hands and hour indices, the simplicity of the dial, the water resistance rating of 20 bar/200 metres, and resistance to low pressure. Additionally there is a transparent caseback revealing the movement, and an anthracite sunburst dial that catches the light differently according to position. The other notable feature of the watch is the large crown which has a crown protector that forms an unmistakable motif on the side of the case.
The case is a moderate size at 38.5 mm diameter and 11 mm thickness. It is in satin-finish stainless steel with vertical sides. The caseback is fixed with screws, and the movement sapphire glass window is relatively small because the ETA 2824-2 is 25.6 mm in diameter. The movement has basic finish and a Sinn oscillating weight, and it provides about 38-40 hours power reserve.
