Montegrappa is an Italian company, based in Bassano del Grappa, that makes principally pens, but also a few watches. These include this piece “Chaos,” with the automatic mechanical movement ETA 2824. The Chaos watch is large, 54 x 43 mm, with a case in silver or gold with a skull and serpents motif suggesting a tale of Gothic horror. The dial has a black PVD coating, with an area of black guilloché providing a contrast for the applied Roman numerals and the hands with luminous coating. The black leather strap has a buckle with another skull; a miniature skull also appears on the crown, and another on the steel caseback.
The watch is an extension of the Chaos range of pens, and its designer is none other than Sylvester Stallone. “Montegrappa is a brand that I have always respected. They are artisans, so it has been a lot of fun working together,” said Stallone when the watch was presented. “For me, the Chaos is a work of art, a special watch that we’re excited to show everyone.” In the photo below (courtesy of Montegrappa), Giuseppe Aquila, CEO of Montegrappa, with Sylvester Stallone.
