This 39mm piece by Parmigiani Fleurier is dominated by the poppy-red dial in aventurine, with rose gold case and bracelet, diamond-set bezel and lugs (in total 112 diamonds, 1 carat), and a single ruby cabochon set into the crown. Creating a dial from a stone such as aventurine is not simple: it has to be cut into sheets and then ground to perfect flatness. Holes then have to be drilled at the centre for the hands, with others for the appliques.
The case is very slim, at 8.4 mm, by virtue of the PF701 automatic movement, which is just 2.6 mm thick. It has a platinum microrotor inset into the same thickness as the bridges. The movement runs at 3 Hertz, 21,600 vibrations per hour, with a power reserve of 42 hours. Its fine finish can be seen through the caseback.
